An Overflow Basin is used for temporary storage of raw sewage when the inflow to the plant is in excess of capacity.

When the inflow returns to within flow capacity, the sewage stored in the Overflow Basin is pumped back into the Wet Well for normal processing.

This basin is a tank left over from the original plant.
